Credential As You Go Research Announcement
The research central to the Credential As You Go work funded by the U.S. Department of Education is divided into two complementary priorities: (1) informing ongoing development and feasibility of credentials under the Incremental Credentialing Framework, and (2) assessing the promise of incremental credentials to generate intended outcomes for learners.
Evidence for the Priority 1 Feasibility study will be collected through qualitative means, starting with a series of focus groups comprised of key Credential As You Go stakeholders to learn more about ongoing development, the feasibility of the Framework, and broader efforts to create and implement innovative credential models among Credential As You Go partner state agencies and institutions. Evidence for the Priority 2 Outcomes study will be collected through established data sharing agreements developed with each state.
To that end, recruiting emails for Priority 1 are being distributed to individuals contributing to the Credential As You Go effort, inviting them to participate in Zoom focus groups facilitated by Kirk Knestis from the research partner Evaluand LLC. Participation in the study is completely voluntary but we hope that contributors will share their ideas about issues relating to incremental credentials so we can learn more from their work.
If you have any questions about the focus group research, or if you want to contribute but do not receive an invitation email, please email Kirk at kirk@evaluand.com.
